I have called the same house in Duluth, Georgia home for over 18 years. My hometown has become a very diverse community over the years, and I believe growing up and being educated here has shaped the way I interact with others in a positive way. I come to Agnes with an interest in chemistry and space, having dreamt of potions classes and escapist fiction. I spend my free time leading my friends in creating worlds together in Dungeons & Dragons, watching birds in the garden and in documentaries, and reading stories from the wide range of authors who shaped my moral code into a belief in compromise and peace above all else. Long before I started world-building in D&D, I enjoyed writing as a hobby, and I am growing in confidence as I share my work.

Over the last few months, we’ve had to learn how to teach ourselves as a result of online learning. However, I feel I got to start this journey much earlier, in my sophomore year, where it became necessary for me to teach myself AP Chemistry when an injury took me out of the classroom at a critical moment. This journey came to a climax in senior year when, outside of the physical classroom, I began to learn calculus, a subject I had struggled with. I had felt, in other subjects, that learning came easily. However, because of these two instances, and every bit of gradual progress in between, I finally began to learn how to learn. I have always considered myself, first and foremost, a student, and I’m excited to continue my journey while at Agnes.
